Sven Holsøe's Eftf. - Our history

Sven Holsøe’s Eftf is a privately owned and independent ship broking company, now in its third generation of ownership. The company was founded by Copenhagen’s first Chartered Shipbroker Mr Sven Holsøe in 1934. He led the company until his death in 1968, where after the company was briefly run by his wife. From 1st July 1969 the company was owned by Mr Ole Bloch Hansen and Mr Carl P. Hansen in partnership. In 1978 Mr Carl P. Hansen stopped as partner and the company was owned by Mr Ole Bloch Hansen until 31st March 2000. Mr Ole Bloch Hansen had been employed by the company since the 15th November 1950 and for nearly 50 years has been an intricate part of the company as we know it today. Mr Ole Bloch Hansen steered the company successfully into the new millennium.

 

In June 2000, the company once again changed ownership and is now owned and operated by Mr Nikolaj Hansen, the third generation of shipbrokers to run the company. Mr Carl P Hansen passed away in the summer of 2003 and Mr Ole Bloch Hansen passed away the spring of 2007.
